Mark Diaz Truman has been working on
Cartel for 4+ years, and now the time has come to put the finishing touches on the game and publish it as a beautiful 8" x 8" book. And that's just the start!
But first, some basics. In
Cartel, you play bold narcos, naïve spouses, and dirty cops tied to the Sinaloa drug cartel, trying to keep your head in an increasingly dangerous game of drugs, money, and power. You navigate complex and dangerous relationships, make desperate plays for money and power, and discover how far you are willing to go to hold on to what is yours.
Magpie Games has previously published an ashcan version of the game, but it's come a long way since then, and this Kickstarter is for a fully-fleshed-out version developed from 2 and a half years of additional work and playtesting. And that's not even mentioning how gorgeous the book is going to be.
If you want to see more about the game, the book, and all the additional pieces we're getting ready for
Cartel,
you can find more information on the Kickstarter page.
But just to wet your whistle...
- We're putting together a Deck of Locations, designed to help you flesh out the setting of Durango, Mexico, and to support GMs in making quick, dramatic moves.
- We're already planning on putting together the supplement book Amigos y Enemigos (Friends and Enemies), full of an array of different NPCs you can insert into your game of Cartel to bring it to life.
- As a Kickstarter Exclusive, we have El Águila y La Serpiente, a mini-supplement all about the CIA and how to bring it into your game of Cartel. And if you get the Limited Edition hardcover version of the book, you'll get El Águila y La Serpiente in print, right in your book!
- If you're interested in jumping into Cartel right away, you can always get the Quickstart from DriveThruRPG for free!
There will be plenty more to come from the
Cartel Kickstarter as time goes on, but we need your support to make sure that happens, and that we get to add on all the cool stuff we have planned! So please, let others know about
Cartel, and as always, thank you all for your support!
